Resolved Question: What type of Jewlery should I get for my gf's birthday?
My girlfriend is turing 18 in a month and I'm not sure what to receive her. So far I am getting her a gold dipped rose, bath and body gift card (may pick out specific bath and body works items instead), and a blossom cake (she doesn't like to eat cake), I also want to receive her something else and was thinking about getting her a piece of jewelry, but I have no idea what nice of jewelry to receive her. I'm not getting her something with her birthstone because its green and I think she hates green, we have only been together for about 3 months so I don't want to spend too much money. If anyone has any suggestions on what type of Jewelry or what other gifts I should receive her I would greatly appreciate it, Thanks!

But she's told everyone that she's thinking of giving me a second chance, and needs time to decide, and that she needs to know if she can trust me again. Yeah, it sounds fine, but I think I messed that chance up somehow. Now, she'll answer her phone, and just keep the convo going for about 2 minutes, then she says she has to go. Last Thursday, she tells me she finally admits to loving me, and she has uncontrollable "urges" for me. And that she wants a kid from me, and misses me etc, though on Friday she says she started her period, do you think this may have caused her to receive mad? Read below.. We every of a sudden start kissing, we move out into the parking lot, we kiss more, then she sticks her hand down my pants, after a while of kissing and having her hand down my pants, she suggests we go back to her home. Open Question: How do I get that professional look?
I need some ideas of how to look more professional. I work during the day at an office, and I work at night selling candles at parties for Partylite. I always am around professional people and I need to know what I can do to receive that proffessional look. I also am 21, but I look like I'm 16. So, people don't always take me too seriousely, because who's gonna hear to a kid. So i need to look older. I just clip my hair a little longer than shoulder length and got some layers and bangs. How should I style it to look more professional? How can I give it more body? It's very flat and thin. Any tips on makeup, hair, nails, clothing, jewelry, etc. Any help is truly appreciated. I am a mom also, so I usually am dressed casually at home, so I'll need a whole new wardrobe. again any tips are helpful! thanks in advance

Open Question: My Best Friends Have Changed Over the Summer... I Feel Like I Don't Even Know Them! Please Help Me!?
Okay,today was my first day in High School. I loved it! ^^ Except for one thing... When I walked in the door, I was shy and was searching for people I knew. Then I saw the faces of two of my Best Friends! I was sooo glad, until I saw what they were wearing... -Black t-shirts with some sorta Manga/Anime thing on it & black jeans. -My BF from Kindergarten was wearing black fingerless gloves, & both of their finger nails were painted black. -They had "gothicish" hair do's. My BF had her hair in a pony-tail w/ one piece of hair hanging in covering like half-of her face. Then my other pal had died her hair black and had bronze streaks in it. -Not to mention their necklaces and jewelry... They hugged me, glad I was there. But I just wanted to tell them how disappointed in them... it, it wasn't them. They looked just so dumb. It was dumb because they weren't being themselves. I didn't want to be mean, and telling them I didn't like it would have ruined the day. So I close myself up. And at lunch my other BF, (who I didn't look when I came in), sat with me and some of my other friends. We chatted, laughed, and had fun! It was great, just like 2nd grade. But then she said she wanted to sit with "Nikra" or "Mikra." I can't remember which. I was so upset. How could But I held it in. I said, "Where does she sit?" She pointed to a round table in the lunchroom. I couldn't look Nikra or her group. She told me they would be up, I could look then. While we waited, I asked her how she knew her. Apparently from some "Anime Convention." They both adore the stuff... obsessed. Me? I HATE IT. I used to like it a bit, before I got an overdose of the stuff. I'm sick of seeing them wear shirts with characters from "Death Note" & "Inuyasha" on them. I'm sick of the cosplaying, the obsession. Then, there she was... NIKRA. I could not be believe my BF liked her! She was so, weird! She was wearing a cat collar with a bell, a leopard skin print coat, a weird t-shirt below it, and not to mention a bunch of stupid garb. Her hair was dyed blonde, too. And her group! Not to be mean, but WEIRD-OS! They every had this odd look on their faces. I said, "Oh... so THAT'S NIKRA." My BF smiled and said "hello" to her. BTW- My other BFs also adore Nikra... I hate her. How could my BF leave me? After every of our years of friendship? To go to a girl she barely knows... and has the same sick obsession as her. It's tearing me up. I desperately want my old friends back, the ones I knew. They had been changing alot over the past year, but this is too much. I want to sob. I want to rip every of the goth & anime out of thier bodies, every the impurities... so they are real. They need to be true to themselves. I hate it. I'm REAL, so why can't they be? I know they're having an identity crisis, but how do I snap them out of the trance? They won't ever admit it. They only good thing is that I'm getting closer to REAL people. They are who they are, and change for no one! And everyone likes them, too! People like me, too. It feels good to be loved. And maybe if my BFs were real, they could be loved, too. Open Question: will this letter about lip piercings work?
Why I Should be Allowed to receive a Lip Ring First off, I want you to realize that I am 16, seventeen in 6 months. I am a junior in high school. I know you know every of this, but I just wanted to point it out so that you keep it in the back of your mind, as you read this, that I am not a child. Second, I want you to know that I have been thinking about this for months now and that this is not a random impulsive decision. Lip rings are a big responsibility, and I am more than ready to take that on. Third, I want you to know that if you do not let me receive a lip ring now, I will respect your decision, although I will disagree with it. I will receive a lip ring once I turn 18, because I won’t need your permission, and I am sure that I will still want one. However, I really want you to support me and trust me enough to let me receive one now, because I want to express my style in high school, and not wait until college Also, lip rings are not permanent! When I decide that I don’t want it anymore, I can take it out, and the tiny hole heals over easily without leaving a scar. I have researched this and have seen many personal experiences that tell me that the hole is too tiny to cause any real tissue damage. I am not asking you for a tattoo (which I have seen on many kids in my grade at school), or to dye my hair blue (which I have also seen countless times). I am asking you for a simple piece of jewelry. This is just like any earring except that it’s in a less common place. You always told me to be a leader and think for myself, and this is me doing so. I do not want to look like everyone else. I want to stand out and be different. However, lip rings are not so uncommon in teenagers that I would be thought down upon for having one. Also, I have seen many people at Etowah with facial piercings, including nose, eyebrows, tongue, and lip, so I know that the school does not have a rule against these things. Unlike a tattoo or funky hair color, I can take out my lip ring (after the initial healing process of about two weeks) when I go to formal occasions or any place where it wouldn’t be considered “appropriate.” I know that you only hesitate on saying yes because either 1) you are afraid of the safety and health issues, 2) you think I will regret doing this when I am older, or 3) you think it looks unattractive. To answer to those: 1)If you take me to a professional body piercing parlor, there is a VERY low risk of any complications. While lip rings are not as common as other piercings, they are still common enough that the professional has had much experience in doing them. Lip rings are one of the fastest healing piercings. They are much less likely to receive infected than most other piercings, including ears. Plus, surprisingly, I have heard from friends and read that lip piercings do not hurt nearly as bad as you think they would. It feels about like biting your lip. There is the initial pinch, but then it is over with. 2)As I said, when I decide that I need to receive rid of the lip ring, I can do so easily simply by taking it out and allowing the hole to heal. There are no scars and there really is nothing to regret. I have no regrets in my life so far because I think you should live every day to the fullest. There is no point in trying to please any one else or fit in with other people’s standards because they should not matter to you. 3)I’m sorry if you don’t think lip rings are attractive, but I adore them. They are a great way to express my style without doing anything permanent or irremovable. I don’t understand how you could tell me to be a leader and then not let me receive a simple piercing just because you don’t like how it looks. Lastly, lip rings are not very expensive. At tattoo and body piercing parlors, they generally cost between $30 and $50. I am more than willing to do housework or other chores to earn this money and pay for it myself. Thank you for considering this. I wrote this in a letter because I feel that if I just asked you, you wouldn’t give me time to explain every of this or let you know that this isn’t an impulsive decision on my part. I have thought about this a lot and I know that I would be much happier and more comfortable with myself as a person if I knew that how I looked was a reflection of my character and not just a clone of other teenage girls. what should i say when i give it to my dad? Resolved Question: What gauge is a cartilage piercing??
I got my cartilage pierced 8 years ago with a piercing gun(Yes, I know worse thing I could've done!!) I have a difficult time finding earrings that are comfortable. I can only wear 14kt gold and I cannot wear any earring that has the post exposed(They dig into my head when I snooze) I was thinking of looking for other body jewelry to fit it and of course they are in gauge sizes. Resolved Question: What do you think the future for magnetic implants will be like?
I actually have a few questions... First, is there magnetic piercing jewelry? Well, I'm sure there is, or it can at least be made, but is it okay to have magnetic jewelry? And if someone did have magnetic jewelry, and someone else had magnetic finger implants, would they push away if they got close, or go together? My main question though, is what do you think will happen to magnetic implants in the future (like 5-10yrs.)? Do you think they will have found a safe material to use as a sheath since the magnets themselves are toxic? Resolved Question: What kind of wood and non-toxic finish do I need for this project?
I am looking to carve a piece of body jewelry out of wood. While the actual carving isn't an issue, I am unsure of what nice of wood and finish I should use. I need a wood that has some weight to it & preferably one that is dark or cherry colored. I also need to know what nice of finish to use so that the wood to absolutely seal the wood so that the finished piece will take on no smells, will be easy to wash, and it (most importantly) won't irritate the skin. I was thinking that a few coats of matte acrylic varnish might do, but I'm open to suggestions. Please let me know what you think would work!

Ancient cemetery found in 'green' Sahara Desert By Randolph E. Schmid, Associated Press WASHINGTON — A tiny lady and two kids were laid to relax on a bed of flowers 5,000 years ago in what is now the barren Sahara Desert. The slender arms of the youngsters were still extended to the lady in perpetual embrace when researchers discovered their skeletons in a remarkable cemetery that is providing clues to two civilizations who lived there, a thousand years apart, when the region was moist and green. Paul Sereno of the University of Chicago and colleagues were searching for the remains of dinosaurs in the African country of Niger when they came across the startling find, detailed at a news conference Thursday at the National Geographic Society. Some 200 graves of humans were found during fieldwork at the site in 2005 and 2006, as well as remains of animals, big fish and crocodiles. "Everywhere you turned, there were bones belonging to animals that don't live in the desert," said Sereno. "I realized we were in the green Sahara." The graveyard, uncovered by hot desert winds, is close what would have been a lake at the time people lived there. It's in a region called Gobero, hidden away in Niger's forbidding Tenere Desert, known to Tuareg nomads as a "desert within a desert." The human remains dated from two distinct populations that lived there during wet times, with a dry period in between. The first group, known as the Kiffian, hunted wild animals and speared huge perch with harpoons. They colonized the region when the Sahara was at its wettest, between 10,000 and 8,000 years ago. The researchers said the Kiffians were tall, sometimes reaching well over 6 feet (1.83 meters). The second group lived in the region between 7,000 and 4,500 years ago. The Tenerians were smaller and had a mixed economy of hunting, fishing and cattle herding. Their burials often included jewelry or ritual poses. For example, one girl had an upper-arm bracelet carved from a hippo tusk. An adult Tenerian male was buried with his skull resting on part of a clay vessel; another adult male was interred seated on the shell of a mud turtle. And pollen remains show the lady and two kids were buried on a bed of flowers. The researchers preserved the group just as they had been for thousands of years. "At first glance, it's difficult to imagine two more biologically distinct groups of people burying their dead in the same place," said team member Chris Stojanowski, a bioarchaeologist from Arizona State University. Stojanowski said ridges on the thigh bone of one Kiffian man show he had huge leg muscles, "which suggests he was eating a lot of protein and had an active, strenuous lifestyle. The Kiffian appear to have been fairly healthy — it would be difficult to grow a body that tall and muscular without sufficient nutrition." On the other hand, ridges on a Tenerian male were barely visible. "This man's life was less rigorous, perhaps taking smaller fish and game with more advanced hunting technologies," Stojanowski said. Helene Jousse, a zooarchaeologist from the Museum of Natural History in Vienna, reported that animal bones found in the area were from types common today in the Serengeti in Kenya, such as elephants, giraffes, hartebeests and warthogs. Some possible risks and percautions are : ·Infection at the site of the piercing · Piercing Systemic infection arising from the piercing (That's an infection that's spread through your system in your blood or through other glands.) ·Scars and/or keloids at the piercing site ·Jewelry migrating - pushing its way out of the skin - can leave nasty scars as well as reopen the original wound ·NEVER attempt to pierce any part of your body yourself, or have someone else do it for you. A reputable professional piercing studio will have the equipment to properly sterilize any equipment and materials that arrive in contact with your body. That's vital to avoid blood borne diseases, and will help reduce the chances of other infections as well. Body piercing care ·Clean your belly button 2 times daily (no more, no less) with antibacterial soap. Before cleaning, use a cu-tip soaked in warm water to gently remove any crust that may have formed around the ring. ·In addition to regular cleanings, salt-water soaks work well to promote healing. You can buy non-iodized sea salt and put about 1/2 tsp in 1/4 cup of cooled boiled water. Put this in a shot glass or tiny medicinal cup and bend over. Resolved Question: Essay to get my belly button pierced?
Is this a good essay to convince my parents to let me receive my navel pierced? Anything I should add change? My dad already said yes. But he is just not sure when. He wanted my to convince him that i can have it done sooner than 15 if this essay impresses him. And i am trieing to convince my mom a little more.(she doesint like piercings). I am 13 by the way. Here is the essay. Navel piercing The reasons why I want a navel piercing are : They look cute, It will cover the scar in my belly button, and I have perfect belly button skin for the piercing. Some possible risks and percautions are : · Infection at the site of the piercing · Piercing Systemic infection arising from the piercing (That's an infection that's spread through your system in your blood or through other glands.) · Scars and/or keloids at the piercing site · Jewelry migrating - pushing its way out of the skin - can leave nasty scars as well as reopen the original wound · NEVER attempt to pierce any part of your body yourself, or have someone else do it for you. A reputable professional piercing studio will have the equipment to properly sterilize any equipment and materials that arrive in contact with your body. That's vital to avoid blood borne diseases, and will help reduce the chances of other infections as well. Body piercing care · Clean your belly button 2 times daily (no more, no less) with antibacterial soap. Before cleaning, use a cu-tip soaked in warm water to gently remove any crust that may have formed around the ring. · In addition to regular cleanings, salt-water soaks work well to promote healing. You can buy non-iodized sea salt and put about 1/2 tsp in 1/4 cup of cooled boiled water. Put this in a shot glass or tiny medicinal cup and bend over. Place it over your navel, lie down and kill 15 minutes. This helps receive rid of any pending infections. · Other than for cleanings and salt water soaks, leave your piercing alone. Do not move your navel jewelry around. If you want to look it, look in a mirror. · Avoid swimming pools and spas. If you must, be sure to clean your navel immediately afterwards with antibacterial soap. · Lavender oil and tea tree oil may help speed healing. To be sure that you are using the essential oils appropriately, consult your piercing professional before using them. · Wear a waterproof bandage over a new (up to six months) piercing when swimming to avoid bacterial contamination. · Avoid using laundry detergents that contain stain fighting enzymes on clothing that will arrive into direct contact with the piercing. The enzymes can impede healing. · Don't touch your new belly button piercing with dirty hands. · Don't let other people touch it · Replace your belly button piercing jewelry only after your piercing has completely healed (usually 6 months to a year). The Procedure: 1. The piercer will clean the belly button area with some solution and mark it. Then, he/she will mark the entry points for the needle and ask you if that's what you want. 2. He/she will put on gloves and prepare the utensils. They might clamp you 3. Holding the clamp in place, they'll ask you to take deep breaths and to relax. Try to think about something peaceful and hold somebody's hand so you can take your mind off things. Then he/she will insert the hollow needle. Then put in the jewlery. Signs of Infection: If you experience pain that does not go away within a day or two, increased pain, unusual pain or swelling in the piercing site, if the area feels hot to the touch, or you look red lines starting from piercing, or look oozing, bleeding, pus, look your health care provider. Do not remove your jewelry. If the jewelry is removed, the openings of the piercing may close and trap the infection, which can create an abscess (a pus-filled, painful area). Other information Navel piercings cost 20-80 dollars depending on were you receive it done You can’t go swimming for 6 months after a navel piercing. Whenever you receive a piercing, you can always take it out no problem-----unlike a tatoo You can still workout after you receive your belly button pierced you just have to clean it before and after your workout and cease if it starts to hurt. This type of piercing is always hidden unless, its summer and you are swimming and or tanning A completely healed belly button piercing can take 6months up to one and a half years. Belly button piercings can be difficult to heal because of exposure to poorly chlorinated waters; also clothing and sweat can irritate the piercing. Factors that can slow the healing process include bad quality jewelry, stress, illness, lack of proper care and a needy diet. If not cared for properly a belly button piercing can take 1-2 years to heal and is an easy target for recurring infection. Reasons I should receive it done: It would be a interesting parent-child experiance I have really good grades Im trustworthy Im responsible Im almost always really good I did every this research Whenever you receive a piercing, you can always take it out no problem-----unlike a tatoo I have been wanting one for a really long time I have watched almost every navel piercing video on youtube and i am fully prepared I will help you whenever you need it!!!!!(even though I already do) I can take pain really well.
